Xiaomi has introduced its very first products in India for the year 2018. Three new Xiaomi products were unveiled at the launch event held by the Chinese smartphone maker on February 14. Two of these three are smartphones that come as successors to Xiaomi’s top-selling smartphone in India, the Redmi Note 4. Named the Redmi Note 5 and the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the two smartphones will cater to the budget smartphone and the mid-segment smartphone range, with a starting price of Rs 9,999 and Rs 13,999 respectively. In addition to the smartphones, Xiaomi has also launched its much anticipated smart television offering, the Mi LED Smart TV 4.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5

Following the lines of the Redmi Note 4, Xiaomi has brought the Redmi Note 5 priced at Rs 9,999 for the 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and at Rs 11,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The new Xiaomi budget offering is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2.0GHz.

The Redmi Note 5 sports a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with a 2160x1080p pixel resolution and a 2.5D finish. It runs the latest MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat 7.1.1. In terms of optics, the smartphone sports a 12-megapixel primary camera at the back with a f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel selfie camera at the front with LED selfie light and Beautify 3.0. The Redmi Note 5 is backed by a 4000 mAh battery.

The Redmi Note 5 comes in 158.5×75.45×8.05mm dimensions and weighs 180 grams. It also sports a fingerprint sensor placed at the back right below the camera. It offers a hybrid (Nano) SIM slot.

The Redmi Note 5 will be available in four different colour options: Black, Lake Blue, Gold and Rose Gold.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro

Xiaomi has brought another step up variant to the Redmi Note 5 in the form of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. The smartphone boasts of a more appealing design, an enhanced processor efficiency and better camera capabilities as compared to the Redmi Note 5.

As for its specifications, the Redmi Note 5 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz and comes in two variants, a 4GB RAM variant and another 6GB RAM option, both carrying a 64GB internal storage. It sports a similar display as the Redmi Note 5, same operating system and the battery efficiency.

The optics on the Redmi Note 5 Pro are backed by a dual camera setup at the back placed vertically. The setup comprises of a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The front sports a 20-megapixel selfie shooter with a Sony IMX376 sensor, LED selfie light and Beautify 4.0.

The 4GB RAM + 64GB memory variant of the Redmi Note 5 Pro is priced at Rs 13,999 while the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage options has been priced at Rs 16,999. The Redmi Note 5 Pro will be available in four different colour options: Black, Lake Blue, Gold and Rose Gold.

Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4

Xiaomi has finally brought its MI TV to India with the 4th edition of the smart TV. With this, India also becomes the first global market of Xiaomi to receive the Mi TV. The smart TV by Xiaomi boasts of a bezel-less frame with just 4.9 mm thickness, a 4K HDR picture quality and a Dolby+DTS Cinema Audio Quality. The Mi TV will be available in India at a price of Rs 39,999.

In terms of specifications, The Mi TV 4 will come in a 4.9mm thin frame, which as per Xiaomi, makes it the World’s thinnest LED TV. The TV sports a frameless design around a 55-inch display that offers 4K HDR picture quality. It is powered by an Amlogic 64 bit Quad-core processor with Mali-T830 Graphics processor. The memory offering on the Mi TV 4 includes a 2GB RAM along with an 8GB internal storage. The connectivity options on the TV are Wi-Fi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.0 along with 3HDMI and 2USB (3.0 + 2.0) ports.

Xiaomi has especially enabled the Mi TV 4 with PatchWall for the Indian market which claims to offer 500,000 hours of content across 15 Indian languages through Xiaomi’s own UI. Xiaomi is also introducing the Mi Remote along with the TV, which claims to work across multiple devices like the Set-Top Box, TV and others, eliminating the need for multiple remotes.

All three of these Xiaomi products will be available on Xiaomi’s official website mi.com, retail stores ‘Mi Homes’ as well as Flipkart, starting February 22. In addition, Xiaomi has also announced a Reliance Jio offer wherein, buyers can avail Rs 2200 cashback along with 100 percent additional 4G data on the purchase of every Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro.
